Cheviot Parking Meter FAQ

50¢/15 minutes

9am to 6pm Monday through Saturday.

Sundays are free parking.

Meters accept both coins and Credit Cards.

You can also scan the QR Code with your phone and pay from your mobile device.

Step 1: Select Left or Right based on which side of the meter you are parked. Each meter is for 2 parking spaces.

Step 2: Swipe credit card with the chip side out.
– The card only needs to be in momentarily. Insert card and remove the card.

Step 3: Add Time using the buttons on the left side of the meter.

Step 4: Confirm – Press the upper button on the right side of the meter when you’ve set the right amount of time.
– The screen will say it’s processing; the lights will flash and confirm the transaction.
– The time on the meter will be shown pointing to the space (Left or Right) that was paid.

Proximity is the name of the online payment portal that allows users to pay for parking from their phone.

This payment is tied to your vehicles license plate and not to the meter. Once you’ve paid you can move your car to any of the paid parking locations withing Cheviot and not have to repay for parking.

You will get a text reminder when your time is ending asking if you’d like to add more time.

Some businesses rely on quick in/out customers, and the city has opted to place them in these locations to keep nearby parking available for these businesses.

These meters do not allow for longer than 15-minute parking.

Parking Tickets are $25 (but it’s about to raise to $50)

There are 86-88 meters that are in-service at any given time.

Yes! There are municipal lots at North Bend Road next to the Public House and at the intersection of Glenmore & Harrison Avenue next to NYPD Pizza.

Many businesses have their own parking.

Parking meters are only located along North Bend Road, Harrison Avenue and Glenmore Avenue. There is ample free street parking available on other roads along Harrison Avenue.

Monies from the parking meters goes in the Parking Lot Commission Fund and is used to pay for street lighting, paving the public parking lots and paying parking meter enforcement salaries.

Come in-person to City Hall to speak to the Police Clerk and bring a photo ID and schedule a court date to dispute the ticket.

Don’t pay for the ticket and come to court on the ticket.

Contact City Hall at 513-661-2700 and Press 1 for Administration to get the information about purchasing a monthly parking Permit.

The cost is $20/Month, and the permit allows holder to park within the metered areas from 9am – 11am Daily.

There isn’t a physical permit it is tracked by vehicle license plate.

Expiration is based on purchase date and not calendar month.

Contact City Hall at 513-661-2700 and Press 1 for Administration and they will direct you to purchase a daily parking permit for $10.

This will be a physical permit to be displayed on the vehicle’s dashboard.
