Duke Energy Toolkit/ Winter Bill Assistance Resources

The impacts of global events, inflation and supply chain issues continue to affect people across the globe. We’re all paying more at the grocery store and gas pump nowadays, and we’re also seeing higher energy bills as rising fuel costs continue to impact the price of electricity and natural gas. Some Duke Energy customers may be seeing higher bills this month that include energy usage during the extremely cold temperatures around the holidays. Heating typically accounts for the most energy usage during the winter in a home, and heating systems use more energy and work harder when it’s very cold. Holidays are also a time when people are home more and use more energy, whether it is their appliances, lights or running their furnace.
