Statement Regarding Mask Mandate for Hamilton County
The Cheviot Police Department supports the initiative to wear a mask or face covering to prevent the further spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19). Yesterday, Governor DeWine issued a mandate for anyone in Hamilton County to wear a mask or face covering beginning at 6:00 p.m. on July 8th, 2020, while the status of the county remains at a Level 3 (Red) status. Governor DeWine indicated this mandate will be enforced by the Hamilton County Board of Health. This is a health-related order; therefore, the Cheviot Police Department will not enforce this mandate. Citizens should NOT call our local emergency communications center (9-1-1) or the non-emergency number (513-825-2280) or Cheviot City Hall if they observe a potential violation of this order. Should a potential violation of this mandate be observed it should be directed to the local Health Department officials.
