The City of Cheviot has been selected as one of 250 cities in Ohio to help celebrate America’s 250th Anniversary in 2026.
July 4, 2026 will be the semi-quincentennial (250th) anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. As part of this significant occasion, all states were invited to create a celebration to reflect the unique character and contribution of each state to the nation over the past 250 years.
On October 24, 2024, the City of Cheviot joined the statewide effort to commemorate America’s 250th anniversary as an official America 250-Ohio Community. This year and beyond, local leaders will work closely with the America 250-Ohio Commission to create, implement and amplify programming designed to showcase the impact City of Cheviot residents have had on our nation’s history.
A committee of local residents has been formed to work on the ways Cheviot will participate in this celebration, working in collaboration with Cheviot Mayor Sam Keller. “We are thrilled to have the honor of helping our country celebrate such a momentous occasion, said Keller. Our committee is enacting a number of exciting ideas that will be a visible way to demonstrate Cheviot’s role in this celebration.”
Bonnie Perrino and Rich Martin are co-chairs of the Cheviot 250 Committee along with a number of other local business leaders, residents and supporters.
